Transport equipment supplier SCF Group has won the AMP Innovation Award at the 2011 SA Telstra Business Awards.

SCF Group was nominated and named a finalist in three categories of the Telstra Awards: Panasonic Medium Business Award, AMP Innovation Award and Yellow Pages Social Responsibility Award.

SCF Group CEO Richard Sykes says taking out the innovation award ahead of a high calibre list of inspiring businesses is a significant achievement for the company.

“Being recognised for innovation by the Telstra Business Awards is a reflection of successful team work in a supportive employee environment,” Richard says.

“Our number one priority is meeting the needs of our clients when it comes to transport storage and accommodation in achieving good design and environmentally friendly products.

“We feel proud to be the only transport company in Australia that offers a complete range of container services ranging from design, relocation, shipping, pooling, repairs to technical and maintenance advice.”

SCF Group was assessed by a Telstra Business Awards judging panel that carried out an onsite inspection of the innovative company after it was shortlisted from a high number of entrants.

SCF goes on to the Telstra Business Awards national final. Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on 26 August in Melbourne and share in prizes worth more than $500,000.

“The awards are a really good opportunity to create further awareness about what Australian companies like us can achieve and inspire other emerging entrepreneurs to do the same,” Richard says.

The series premiere of ‘Top Design’ on Channel Nine last night, challenged contestants to transform a shipping container into a dream pad.The once sterile containers were renovated into glamorous mini apartments to include funky kitchens, deckings, living spaces and even bedrooms.
